Access a data room as a guest
How to open a data room you've been invited to: confirm your email with a 6-digit one-time code, accept the terms, and optionally set a password for next time.
When a seller or advisor shares a data room with you, you get either a share link or an email invitation. Both routes confirm who you are with a one-time code before the documents are shown. You don't need an Arcili account to get in.
There are two entry points, depending on what you received:
1Open a data room via a share link
A share link looks like app.arcili.com/dataroom-access/…. When you open it, you land on the access page Data room with the text "{sender} has shared the data room '{room}' with you."
Type your email in name@company.com and click Send code.
Your email is used to show who is viewing the documents. All of your activity in the room is named — this is intentional, so the seller side can document access.
2Enter the 6-digit one-time code
You receive an email with a code. Enter it under "Enter the 6-digit code" and click Verify and open.
The code expires after 10 minutes. If it expires, or you enter it incorrectly too many times, use Send new code or Change email. If you see "The link is invalid, expired or revoked", the share link is no longer active — ask the sender for a new one.
3Accept the terms (NDA)
If the sender requires it, the page "Accept terms to access" appears before the content becomes visible. Read the text, tick I have read and accept the terms and click Accept and continue.
Your acceptance is recorded with timestamp and email in the data room's activity log.
If the sender requires a digital signature, we ask for a signature instead: the page is called "Sign the terms digitally". Fill in Full name (your signature), click Send code to my email, enter the 6-digit code and click Sign and continue. Afterwards you'll see "Signed by {name}".
4Create a password (optional)
Once you're in — whether via a share link or an invitation — we offer to create a password so you can sign in directly at app.arcili.com next time without waiting for a new one-time code. This step only appears if you don't already have a password.
You're signed in as name@company.com. Create a password so you can sign in directly next time.
Password (at least 8 characters)
Create password Skip — continue with one-time codes
The password must be at least 8 characters. If you'd rather use a one-time code every time, click Skip — continue with one-time codes — it doesn't change your access to the room.
5Accept an email invitation
If instead you were invited as a named guest, your link opens a page where you confirm your email the same way as with a share link. Type the email the invitation was sent to in name@company.com and click Send code. Then enter the 6-digit code from your inbox and click Accept invitation.
Afterwards you get the same optional offer to create a password described in step 4.
Your email must match the one the invitation was sent to. If you enter a different one, you'll see "The email doesn't match the invitation". If you already have an Arcili account, we ask you to sign in first and then open the invitation link again.
6Find your data rooms again
You always open a data room via your share link or your invitation link. If you're signed in — because you created a password, or because your session is still active — the guest page shows your rooms as a list under the heading "Your data rooms" with next to each room. If you only have access to one room, it opens directly without the list. At the top right there's Sign out.
If the sender has enabled white-label, their own company name or logo replaces the Arcili brand at the top of the guest pages. The footer still reads "Powered by Arcili" — it's still the same data room.
